Two terminal areas, not one
Most large ships berth at Moll Adossat, a long pier southwest of the city with terminals labelled A through E. Smaller vessels use the World Trade Center terminals at the foot of La Rambla. The two are several kilometres apart, so confirm which one your ship uses before you get into a car.
Pedestrian access to Moll Adossat is not permitted. A dedicated blue shuttle bus runs from the Columbus monument to the pier for a small fare.
Airport to port by taxi
A taxi from either El Prat terminal to Moll Adossat typically costs 40 to 50 EUR including the airport and port supplements. It is the simplest option and drops you at the terminal door. Ranks are outside both terminals and move quickly even on busy Saturday mornings.
Doing it on a budget
The Aerobus to Plaza Catalunya followed by a walk or short taxi down La Rambla to the Columbus monument, then the port shuttle, costs a fraction of a taxi. It works well for two travelers with modest luggage and poorly for families with several suitcases.
Planning notes
- Barcelona is a common turnaround port, so Saturdays and Sundays see heavy simultaneous embarkation.
- A pre cruise night in the city is easy here, with good hotels close to the port area.
- Keep documents accessible, as terminal check in requires passports and boarding passes.
- On disembarkation, taxi queues at Moll Adossat can be long between 07:30 and 09:30.
