Harry Reid Airport to the Las Vegas Strip
The Strip begins less than two miles from the runway, which makes Las Vegas one of the easiest resort transfers anywhere. The complications are all at the resort end, not the airport end.

| Ride hailing | 10 to 30 min | 15 to 40 USD | Fixed fares |

Terminal layout and pickup zones
Terminal 1 handles most domestic carriers, Terminal 3 handles international and some domestic flights. Both have clearly signed taxi ranks on the ground level. Ride hailing pickups are directed to upper level parking garage zones, which involves a short walk and an elevator ride.
The two terminals are not connected landside, so if you are meeting someone, agree on a terminal in advance.
The resort porte cochere problem
Strip resorts are enormous. A drop off at the main entrance can still leave a five to ten minute indoor walk to the check in desk and another walk to the room tower. This is the part travelers underestimate, not the drive itself.
Some properties have separate rideshare entrances at the back of the building. Check your resort's arrival instructions before you land so you know which door you want.

Cost expectations
A metered taxi to a mid Strip resort typically runs 20 to 30 USD before tip. Ride hailing is usually similar and occasionally cheaper, though convention weeks and major fight or festival nights produce heavy surge pricing. Shared shuttles are the cheapest but stop at multiple hotels, which can turn a ten minute drive into an hour.
Practical advice
- Ask the taxi driver not to take the airport tunnel unless traffic requires it, as the longer route costs more.
- Resort fees and parking charges are separate from your transfer and often surprise first time visitors.
- Downtown and Fremont Street hotels are further out, typically 25 to 35 USD by car.
- Late night arrivals are easy here, as the airport and the city both operate around the clock.
